Ulysses subscriptions are managed through Apple’s App Store system. This means that everything is managed entirely by Apple's payment and subscription system. They are your contract partner as stated on the invoice. We therefore have no access to your subscription, payment, or billing details and cannot cancel or refund a subscription.
Canceling a Subscription
To cancel the subscription, please follow the steps below. For detailed instructions and more information, we suggest checking Apple's support page.
On Mac
- Open the App Store app.
- Click your name or the sign-in button at the bottom of the left sidebar.
- Select Account Settings in the top-right corner.
- Click Subscriptions.
- Choose Ulysses.
- Click Cancel Subscription.
On iPad/iPhone
- Open the Settings app on your device.
- Select your Apple Account at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select your Ulysses subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Canceling a discounted subscription permanently ends the offer. You cannot transfer it or resubscribe to a discounted subscription.
- For trial subscriptions, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial period ends to avoid charges.
- Student subscriptions are one-time purchases that expire after 6 months. They do not auto-renew and require no cancellation.
Refunding a Subscription
Once you’ve canceled your subscription, you can request a refund directly from Apple.
- Sign in to https://reportaproblem.apple.com.
- From the I'd like to menu, select Request a refund.
- Select a reason why you would like a refund.
- Choose Next.
- From the list of your subscriptions, select Ulysses.
- Choose Submit.

What Happens After Canceling?
When your Ulysses subscription expires, the app switches to read-only mode. You can still access and export your content. However, you won't be able to create new sheets or groups, or edit existing ones, without an active subscription.
