Ulysses offers an educational discount to students and academic staff members.
Please check out Apple's App Store for pricing. A list of available subscription options is displayed in the app's description (under the heading Subscriptions or In-App Purchases respectively).
To get the discount, please apply from within the app and attach some proof of your status.
As proof of status we accept almost anything that shows that you are indeed a student or academic staff member. Send us, for example, a screenshot of your student ID card, your transcript of records, your certificate of enrolment, and such like.
You cannot see the option Apply for Student Discount? That means you probably have an active (trial) subscription already. In this case, you cannot switch directly to a student subscription. You'll have to cancel your current (trial) subscription first as outlined here.
After your cancellation, please wait until your regular subscription expires. Ulysses reverts to read-only mode once its subscription runs out. You should then be able to apply for the student discount.

- Open Ulysses' Preferences…
- Switch to Activation pane
- Click Show Subscriptions
- Click See All Plans and select Ulysses for Students
- Click Apply for Student Discount
After we've processed your application, you’ll be sent an email with an activation link (usually within 24 hours).
Student subscriptions are technically one-time purchases. This means they can only be purchased for six months at a time, and they will expire automatically after six months. During the approval period mentioned in your confirmation email, you can purchase another student subscription. If your approval period ends, you can apply again for the discount. There's no limit on reapplications. You can reapply as long as you are a student or academic staff member.
