If disk space is running low, iCloud may temporarily remove files from the device. This might cause Ulysses to re-download the content whenever you open the app. Please try the following to resolve this issue:
Mac
On Mac, please turn off the option “Optimize Mac Storage”. By default, this setting is turned on.
- Open the “System Settings”
- Go to *Your Account* › “iCloud”
- Deactivate “Optimize Mac Storage”
- Restart your Mac
If this doesn't help, please check how much local storage you have left on your Mac:
- Click the in the corner of your screen
- Choose “About This Mac”
- Select Storage
If you have almost reached your storage limit, please free up some storage space.
Please note that due to an error in iCloud, sheets and groups are reloaded even though there is enough storage space.
If the issue persists, please contact our support team directly via help@ulysses.app.
iPad/iPhone
On iPhone or iPad, a re-download usually occurs after an operating system or app update when the system temporarily requires more storage space.
If the issue is recurring, please force-restart (cold-reboot) your device according to the instructions outlined in the following Apple support articles:
Force restart iPhone
Force restart iPad
If this doesn't help, please check how much internal storage space is left on your device:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap General
- Select iPhone/iPad Storage
If you have almost reached your storage limit, please free up some storage space.
Please note that due to an error in iCloud, sometimes sheets and groups are reloaded even though there is enough storage space.
