How Do I Change the App's Language?

Ulysses is available in 12 languages, and by default, it uses your system language. However, you have the option to switch to any of the other available languages if you prefer.

System Language

If you want to use the same language across all your apps, you can change the language of your operating system:

  • On Mac, go to System Settings › General › Language & Region. Under “Preferred Language,” set the desired language as your Primary language
  • On iPad/iPhone, go to Settings › General › Language & Region and set your preferred language as “iPad/iPhone Language.”

App-Specific Language

But it's also possible to change the language for one specific app:

On Mac

  1. Go to System Settings › General › Language & Region and scroll down to the Applications.
  2. Click on + to add an app.
  3. Select Ulysses as the Application and set the language accordingly. Here is an example:

To use Dictation in a language that's different from your system language, you'll need to change the dictation language separately.

  1. In System Settings, go to Keyboard › Dictation.
  2. Go to Language › Edit and select a language.

On iPad/iPhone

  1. Go to Settings, scroll down to the bottom, and select Apps.
  2. Find Ulysses in the list of apps, and select it.
  3. Change the Preferred Language to one of the 12 available ones:
